Blister mat
The blister mat is a mat that prevents sand from spreading.

The blister mat is ideal to create a firm base under the cow in deep litter cubicles and sand bedded cubicles. Fill with sand (containing 25 to 30% loam content) and allow sand to settle then covered with a 4-5 cm layer of bedding or sand. Just like a cow mattress, the top layer must be maintained and replenished to ensure continued good performance of the blister mat.
The blister mat is a grid-shaped mat with a square cells pattern of openings that are 8 and 11 cm deep. The squares are filled with sand and covered with a layer of bedding (sawdust, chopped straw, or sand). The cows lie on the sand-filled mat made of resilient rubber. The cows experience the comfort of lying on sand, but the design of the mat prevents the sand out being removed from the squares.
Advantages of sand in combination with the blister mat:
Sand combined with the blister mat offers the following advantages: good grip when the cow stands up, hygiene, a comfortable lying surface, good exchange of body heat and perspiration moisture, and minimal daily labour input for the cubicles.

Snooker mat
This 4 cm thick mat is an alternative version of the blister mat. It is used in the same way: anchor the mat to the cubicle floor and fill it with loamy sand. It offers advantages for animal welfare by providing more grip and better regulation of body heat. Ensure clean and sufficient bedding is provided. The use of the solid fraction in cubicles can be combined well with the snooker mat. The mat has reinforced front and back edges.
The mat should preferably be used in combination with a knee rail, e.g., a 160 mm round PE pipe, and a rear edge, e.g., a 90 mm round PE pipe.
