Plenty of Light for Less
Good lighting is not only beneficial for livestock but also significantly enhances work efficiency and job satisfaction. Most livestock farmers are already aware of the positive impact of good lighting on their animals. However, the energy consumption of high-quality lighting remains a concern, especially in today’s energy-conscious environment. Fortunately, the latest LED fixtures offer substantial energy savings in many farms.
Many dairy farms still rely on standard fluorescent lighting. While this type of lighting is reliable and often has a long lifespan, it is difficult to assess the decline in light output (lumens) over time. The difference becomes apparent only when new lighting is installed and a visual comparison can be made.
At Swaving Stalinrichting, we frequently work with the MacBright. The MacBright is a large LED lamp housed in a steel casing measuring 35cm x 65cm. It is suspended from the rafters using chains and simply plugged into the existing power supply. This high-powered LED lamp delivers an impressive 1300 lumens and boasts a long average lifespan of 80,000 hours.
The MacBright emits white light and is highly energy-efficient with a power consumption of only 106 Watts.
